Bourbon was born right here in the heart of Kentucky. Steeped in charred oak barrels in the ideal climate of Kentucky’s hot summers and snowy winters; the tradition carries on today, almost entirely unchanged. In 2012, Steve Thompson, Chris Miller and Mike Loring came together with an idea to create a place for people to come and ‘bottle their dreams’ in the old Crestwood, Kentucky Ice Cream Distributors, Inc. building. Steve’s many years of experience in the spirits industry played a big role in the inspiration and power behind the Kentucky Artisan Distillery concept. It would be the first contract distillery in Kentucky, and the only production sized farm-to-bottle distillery capable of distilling as little as one barrel for a special occasion on up to over 1,800 barrels a year for partners like Jefferson’s Reserve. They would do this using only pot stills, and running the distillery by hand. As bourbon has gained popularity in recent years, things have changed a little bit. The Jefferson’s brand has grown, and has adopted Kentucky Artisan Distillery as its official home. We take great pride in being the home to this innovative brand, which still stays true to the rich heritage and tradition […]

Angel’s Envy is a hand-crafted, small-batch whiskey produced by Louisville Distilling Company, a subsidiary of Bacardi Limited. WHEN LINCOLN CAME OUT OF RETIREMENT TO CREATE ANGEL’S ENVY it was to collaborate with his son, Wes, on a bourbon finished in Port barrels. He’d had the idea for years, but had never had the chance to explore it previously. It was just as important to Lincoln to be creating a new type of whiskey as it was to be building something with his family. Wes’s son Kyle eventually joined his family to help with the fledgling brand, and to learn side by side with his grandfather. ROOTED in 200 YEARS of bourbon heritage, we create hand-finished spirits that aren’t afraid to improve on the classic tradition. Inspired by legendary Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson’s lifetime spent crafting fine spirits, Angel’s Envy is our masterpiece. The 5% of spirit lost each year during barrel aging is called the “Angel’s Share.” After tasting our finished whiskey, Lincoln joked that we’d finally gotten a better deal than the angels. And so Angel’s Envy was born.
Bourbon Whiskey is a distinctly American product that has been produced in this country since the eighteenth century. Bourbon can be made in any U.S. state but the vast majority of it hails from Kentucky and can claim to be world-renowned Kentucky Bourbon. The site of the Green River Distillery has housed distilleries for nearly 130 years. The original Green River Distillery, built-in 1885, was the first in Owensboro and a major producer of Kentucky Bourbon for over 30 years. In 1918 the entire distillery burned to the ground. It was rebuilt in 1936 after prohibition, and most of the buildings on our grounds today date back to the late 1930s. In 1940 it was purchased by the Medley family and continued to produce significant quantities of Bourbon as the Charles Medley Distillers Kentucky until 1993. Here is a random sampling of just some of the bourbon brands that have been made on the site of our distillery. Some of these brands have moved on to different distilleries over time and some are no longer in production: Green River Ezra Brooks Mellow Corn Medley Brothers Kentucky Beau Old Medley Five Brothers
As the first distillery to open in Iowa since Prohibition, Cedar Ridge is preserving the legacy of a lost craft. Our techniques let each batch of our whiskey take on the character of Iowa’s land and climate. So from the very first sip, every step of the process is evident – from grain to glass. For that’s what makes Cedar Ridge Whiskey Authentic by Nature. SLIPKNOT NO. 9 RESERVE Slipknot and Cedar Ridge Distillery – two groups of people born and raised in Iowa, and committed to quality and hard work. We collaborated on “No. 9 Whiskey”, which in addition to Iowa corn, gets some extra spice from its rye content. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Live life, and always be safe. – Cheers, Clown A blend of 4-5 yr. old straight rye and straight bourbon mashed, fermented, distilled, and aged at the Cedar Ridge Distillery.

The story of Woodinville doesn’t begin with a 100-year-old recipe or generations of family distillers. It begins with two best friends and a dream. The dream is to make the greatest craft whiskey in the world by bringing the time-honored traditions of bourbon production into a craft environment — using the highest quality locally grown grains, the best barrels and coopers in the world, the most technologically advanced distilling equipment, and the mentorship of an industry icon, David Pickerell, former Master Distiller for Maker’s Mark. And while the story is still unfolding, after being awarded “Craft Whiskey of the Year” and “Craft Rye Whiskey of the Year” two years in a row by the American Distilling Institute, things are headed in the right direction. 14509 Woodinville Redmond Rd. THE NEW FRONTIER In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit, Jr., fulfilled a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe by starting the Bulleit Distilling Company. Inspired by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, who made a high-rye whiskey between 1830-1860, Tom left a successful law practice and risked everything to experience life on the frontier. Today, we’re not the only ones who are glad he did. A WHISKEY NEARLY LOST FOREVER A tavern keeper in 1830s Louisville, Kentucky, Augustus Bulleit was dedicated to a single goal: the creation of a bourbon unique in flavor. After experimenting with countless varieties, he finally came upon a bourbon with the character he had long sought after. One fateful day, while transporting his barrels of bourbon from Kentucky to New Orleans, Augustus Bulleit vanished. What happened is still unknown, and his creation nearly disappeared into history along with him. A LEGEND TODAY To this day, Bulleit™ Bourbon is distilled and aged in the Bulleit family tradition. High rye content gives it a bold, spicy character with a distinctively smooth, clean finish. Kentucky limestone-filtered water provides a foundation for the bourbon’s character, while charred American oak barrels lend a smoky backbone. Our aging philosophy is simple: […]
