While we love to show off our historic distillery to as many folks as possible, our top priority is always the health and safety of our guests and our team. ID is required at check-in. Face coverings and proper social distancing are required during your time with us. No cash will be accepted. If you’re ever in Kentucky, we’d love to have you over for a tour of the distillery. You’ll find that the same attention to detail that goes into making our bourbon has gone into preserving this place. Star Hill Farm covers more than 1,000 acres. This includes North America’s first natural water sanctuary, started as part of our commitment to sustainability.
WELCOME TO NEW YORK’S URBAN FARM DISTILLERY Since 1922 my family has provided some of the finest men’s suit buttons available. For four generations these buttons have closed suits worn by Presidents, Popes, Kings, and Businessmen the world over. From a young age I went to work in my grandfather’s factory, but it was clear I was meant for a different path. I broke tradition and decided to make whiskey. The lessons I learned in his factory as a kid still guide me to this day; work hard, work with your hands, make your product the best on the market, and you can’t cheat time. My distillery pays homage to my grandfather and the world he knew – where real men worked hard and drank real pot-distilled whiskey. People always ask me if it was a hard decision to start my own company. And for me it wasn’t one decision, it was a series of them. It was a driving desire to strike out on my own; to make my mark on the world. My interest in distilled spirits grew over the years and when the chance to learn the trade came along, I jumped at it. When it came time […]
We’re not here just to churn whiskey out, But to make something special to this area that draws on what is particular about our region. Our location is special because we are at the intersection of the Sierra Foothills and the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. The weather and agriculture around us are unique to here and we emphasize that when you visit us in our Tasting Room. Our operations, Amador Distillery & Dry Diggings Distillery, were started independently of one another in 2012 and brought together in 2015 with a focus on our locally grown fruit and grain. Merging the two facilities into one, gave us to the opportunity to focus these efforts. We are active in production weekly and have barrels aging past 10 years. Our small production capacity allows us to focus on high-quality and local products. We create spirits from beginning to end by working with local farmers, vintners, and brewers. We currently produce over 25 labels, but only distribute the more traditional types of products. We ferment, distill, blend and bottle all products by hand on-site in El Dorado Hills. However, we do also blend some of our whiskies, and our labels clearly state if […]

For that’s what makes Cedar Ridge Whiskey Authentic by Nature. Bourbon Whiskey is a distinctly American product that has been produced in this country since the eighteenth century. Bourbon can be made in any U.S. state but the vast majority of it hails from Kentucky and can claim to be world-renowned Kentucky Bourbon. The site of the Green River Distillery has housed distilleries for nearly 130 years. The original Green River Distillery, built-in 1885, was the first in Owensboro and a major producer of Kentucky Bourbon for over 30 years. In 1918 the entire distillery burned to the ground. It was rebuilt in 1936 after prohibition, and most of the buildings on our grounds today date back to the late 1930s. In 1940 it was purchased by the Medley family and continued to produce significant quantities of Bourbon as the Charles Medley Distillers Kentucky until 1993. Here is a random sampling of just some of the bourbon brands that have been made on the site of our distillery. Some of these brands have moved on to different distilleries over time and some are no longer in production: Green River Ezra Brooks Mellow Corn Medley Brothers Kentucky Beau Old Medley Five Brothers
Split Rock Distillery for a dirt road we travel often—the shortcut between our two homes. It’s the only shortcut we’ve ever taken to bring you Maine’s first organic spirits. When we founded Split Rock, we promised ourselves we would handcraft our spirits the right way. That meant the long way: authentic, small-batch grain to glass, selling no spirit not our own. We spent evenings and weekends building a distillery and tasting room by hand in an old barn on historic Route One. We sourced organic grains and fruits from the fields of farmers we count as friends. We demanded organic sugars and drew waters so pure locals still harvest winter ice. We refined our fermentations again and again to showcase the unique signatures of our still. And through it all, we gathered knowledge, inspiration, a helping hand, and an honest opinion from other distillers, family, and friends, and every stranger fairly met.
From start to finish, every step of production occurs under our control in our facility in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Our more traditional methods of mashing, fermenting, distilling and aging require more effort and are more costly than other more modern methods. Nevertheless, we understand that exceptional results often require patience. Our patience and hard work provide you with the finest quality of artisan spirits.

Wyoming Whiskey makes bourbon in small batches at our distillery in Kirby, Wyoming. From day one, every drop of Wyoming Whiskey was made in Kirby and aged in one of our six rick houses. That’s not true of every whiskey you run into. We don’t pass judgment, but it means a lot to us and we hope it means something to you. Double Cask Bourbon Whiskey Whiskey gets its color and character from the cask in which it ages and matures. This Double Cask whiskey goes through the process twice. The first five years of maturation in a new charred oak barrel make it a bourbon. That bourbon then experiences secondary maturation in decades-old casks seasoned by Pedro Ximenez sherry that adds a touch of sweetness and yields a smooth and impressively complex spirit. TASTING NOTES COLOR: copper to mahogany NOSE: autumnal notes of dried apricot, mission fig, and dried date PALATE: stewed prune and black raisin, with hints of candied orange peel; vanilla buttercream and toffee underneath MOUTHFEEL: rich, sticky cinnamon roll with raisins and spice FINISH: dark dried fruit, followed by warming brown baking spices
OUR VISION FOR PROTECTING AND CONSERVING NATURAL RESOURCES The art of making fine bourbon first took place on the site of the Woodford Reserve Distillery, a National Historic Landmark, in 1812. You get that sense of history. The history of bourbon is the history of Kentucky, is the history of the United States. BOOK A TOUR
In the rural hills of Wyoming County, where the pavement turns to dirt and the cornfields line the road, we set up shop in a small barn to distill craft spirits. This humble endeavor began by chance with the arrival of a homemade pot-still via family friend and southern moonshiner “Cowboy Bob”. It was here that Bob taught us the basics of distilling. In 2012, we filed for our DSP and NYS Class D Farm permits. This newly created license required at least 75% New York State grown produce to be used for the production of Spirits (we use 100%). This law allows for the direct sale to consumers, liquor stores, bars and restaurants without having to sell through a distributor. Thus making it possible to compete with large producers and promote local agriculture. By 2016 we decided to bring the Buffalo Distilling Company back to where its’ original namesake was founded in 1883 “The City Of Good Neighbors”, Buffalo. As luck would have it we were able to work with a group of developers revitalizing the historical Larkin district within the city. The Larkin Development group leased and eventually sold us the old Duchmann and Son’s carriage factory built […]
THE NEW FRONTIER In 1987, Thomas E. Bulleit, Jr., fulfilled a lifelong dream of reviving an old family bourbon recipe by starting the Bulleit Distilling Company. Inspired by his great-great-grandfather Augustus Bulleit, who made a high-rye whiskey between 1830-1860, Tom left a successful law practice and risked everything to experience life on the frontier. Today, we’re not the only ones who are glad he did. A WHISKEY NEARLY LOST FOREVER A tavern keeper in 1830s Louisville, Kentucky, Augustus Bulleit was dedicated to a single goal: the creation of a bourbon unique in flavor. After experimenting with countless varieties, he finally came upon a bourbon with the character he had long sought after. One fateful day, while transporting his barrels of bourbon from Kentucky to New Orleans, Augustus Bulleit vanished. What happened is still unknown, and his creation nearly disappeared into history along with him. A LEGEND TODAY To this day, Bulleit™ Bourbon is distilled and aged in the Bulleit family tradition. High rye content gives it a bold, spicy character with a distinctively smooth, clean finish. Kentucky limestone-filtered water provides a foundation for the bourbon’s character, while charred American oak barrels lend a smoky backbone. Our aging philosophy is simple: […]
Kentucky Artisan Distillery is a very unique place in the distillery world. KAD is a contract distiller and bottler and currently serves as the home for Jefferson’s Reserve Bourbon. Serving as the home for Jefferson’s Bourbon means that a large amount of the brand’s distilling, bottling, and aging happens onsite. KAD also works with Jefferson’s to help many of their innovative products become realities. Visit our ‘Brands’ page to learn more about this relationship. Kentucky Artisan Distillery is one of the few distilleries that produce bourbon and spirits literally from the roots to the bottle, all by hand. We contract to grow our grains on 700 acres neighboring our distillery at Waldeck Farm. Our distillery is completely run by our distillers, not a computer. And every bottle that goes down our bottling line is touched by several sets of hands.
