Wilderness Trail Distillery has a pioneering spirit here at Wilderness Trail Distillery, just like the settlers who followed the path Daniel Boone blazed into Central Kentucky. In keeping with our location in the birthplace of Kentucky, we like blending old traditions with the science of making Bourbon and other fine spirits. After years of working with distilleries around the world to provide advice and fermentation products, we launched our premium craft distillery in 2012 with a focus on making the highest quality Bourbon, Rye Whiskey, Vodka, and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Rum. Our founders Shane Baker and Pat Heist are fermentation experts with more than 20 years of experience in the production of alcohol and some of the best brands on the market today. Our specialty is making unique spirits from locally-grown grains to ensure quality and adding a healthy dose of science in the process. Come see what we mean by visiting Wilderness Trail Distillery.
The story of Woodinville doesn’t begin with a 100-year-old recipe or generations of family distillers. It begins with two best friends and a dream. The dream is to make the greatest craft whiskey in the world by bringing the time-honored traditions of bourbon production into a craft environment — using the highest quality locally grown grains, the best barrels and coopers in the world, the most technologically advanced distilling equipment, and the mentorship of an industry icon, David Pickerell, former Master Distiller for Maker’s Mark. And while the story is still unfolding, after being awarded “Craft Whiskey of the Year” and “Craft Rye Whiskey of the Year” two years in a row by the American Distilling Institute, things are headed in the right direction. 14509 Woodinville Redmond Rd. We’re not here just to churn whiskey out, But to make something special to this area that draws on what is particular about our region. Our location is special because we are at the intersection of the Sierra Foothills and the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. The weather and agriculture around us are unique to here and we emphasize that when you visit us in our Tasting Room. Our operations, Amador Distillery & Dry Diggings Distillery, were started independently of one another in 2012 and brought together in 2015 with a focus on our locally grown fruit and grain. Merging the two facilities into one, gave us to the opportunity to focus these efforts. We are active in production weekly and have barrels aging past 10 years. Our small production capacity allows us to focus on high-quality and local products. We create spirits from beginning to end by working with local farmers, vintners, and brewers. We currently produce over 25 labels, but only distribute the more traditional types of products. We ferment, distill, blend and bottle all products by hand on-site in El Dorado Hills. However, we do also blend some of our whiskies, and our labels clearly state if […]

Boundary Oak Distillery is nestled in the knobs of central Kentucky. With its beautiful woods, waterfall, and natural limestone spring the land was clearly meant to be home to one of Kentucky’s great bourbon distilleries. However, because of prohibition bourbon enthusiasts have been robbed of this asset for nearly a century. In fact, the land has most recently been known as a manufacturing plant that closed in 2009. Fortunate for us, Master Distiller Brent Goodin had a vision for something more. You see, the Goodin Family has been a part of Kentucky for over 200 years. Brent’s ancestor Samuel Goodin established Goodin Fort at the site of old Boston, which ultimately became Bardstown, the Bourbon Capital of the World ™. Add to this Brent’s grandmother and uncle’s years of hard work in the bourbon industry and it’s no wonder how Brent could see a distillery on this land. After months of research, paperwork, preparation, and an investment of nearly 1 million dollars, Boundary Oak Distillery received its licensure. On October 18, 2013, the first legal production of liquor in Hardin County, Kentucky since prohibition began. Our Kentucky Moonshine 101 proof, Kentucky Moonshine 121 proof, and Kentucky Amber are now available at […]

WELCOME TO NEW YORK’S URBAN FARM DISTILLERY Since 1922 my family has provided some of the finest men’s suit buttons available. For four generations these buttons have closed suits worn by Presidents, Popes, Kings, and Businessmen the world over. From a young age I went to work in my grandfather’s factory, but it was clear I was meant for a different path. I broke tradition and decided to make whiskey. The lessons I learned in his factory as a kid still guide me to this day; work hard, work with your hands, make your product the best on the market, and you can’t cheat time. My distillery pays homage to my grandfather and the world he knew – where real men worked hard and drank real pot-distilled whiskey. People always ask me if it was a hard decision to start my own company. And for me it wasn’t one decision, it was a series of them. It was a driving desire to strike out on my own; to make my mark on the world. My interest in distilled spirits grew over the years and when the chance to learn the trade came along, I jumped at it. When it came time […]
Based in Rapid City, SD, owner Jerry Sailer, of Rapid City, has turned a seven-generation, Sailer family recipe into reality by producing flavored liqueur in South Dakota. Jerry Sailer was educated in the art of “making alcohol” by his father when he was 15 years old. Jerry’s father also learned the art of “making alcohol” when he was 15. In fact, the five previous father and son relationships of the family shared the same bond. Making alcohol has been in our blood for a long time. The flavors you’re tasting today didn’t happen overnight. Contraband flavored liqueurs have been perfected from generation to generation. In fact, Jerry recalls the beverage his father passed onto him as tasting like “turpentine with a little lighter fluid thrown in for flavoring,” but, “it got the job done.” From that point on, Jerry’s dream was to own and open his own distillery. SMOOTH BOURBON Bourbon taste. No bourbon bite. It’s just dangerous. Contraband Smooth Bourbon is a bourbon-flavored liqueur that invokes all of your favorite bourbon tastes. Smoky Oak. Vanilla. Caramel. Spices. All of it in a flavored liqueur that always goes down smooth after hitting the tongue with a strong flavor. We promise […]
The Breckenridge Distillery is the “World’s Highest Distillery”. Founded in 2008, the Breckenridge Distillery is most widely known for its blended bourbon whiskey, a high-rye mash American-style whiskey. Breckenridge Bourbon is one of the most highly awarded crafted bourbons; 4x winner of Best American Blended (2016, 17, 18, and 2019) from the World Whiskies Awards and Bourbon of the Year in 2011 at the Int’l Wine & Spirits Competition, and 2019 Colorado Distillery of the Year at the New York Int’l Spirits Competition. In 2018, Breckenridge Distillery won the coveted Icons of Whisky for Brand Innovator of the Year. Since coming online in 2008 and releasing its first vodka and bourbon three years later, Breckenridge Distillery has quickly become an award-winning producer of fine spirits, being designated one of the top three bourbons in the U.S. How it all came to be, however, stems from a mix of just the right ingredients, a hint of luck and a deep love for quality whiskey.
Inspired by the craft spirit movement in Oregon, Ted Pappas opened the doors to Big Bottom Whiskey in 2010 as the premier independent bottler of whiskeys located in Hillsboro, Oregon. In the initial years, the company primarily focused on merchant bottling of bourbons along with specialty finished bourbons such as the multiple awards winning Port Cask Finished Bourbon. In 2013, Big Bottom released its brother brand, Calhoun Bros. Adventure Spirits. Under that brand, the first whiskey pouch in the US market was introduced along with a traditional Aged Rum. The company expanded its operation in 2014, as they began to distill their own spirits in addition to aging, blending, finishing, and bottling their sourced whiskeys and aged rum. In 2015, Big Bottom Whiskey officially transitioned to Big Bottom Distilling, as they begin to release their own line of distilled products that include gins, rums, brandies and whiskeys. They will continue to offer their exclusive Warehouse Series – a boutique line of limited production spirits only available through the Big Bottom tasting room.
Bourbon Whiskey is a distinctly American product that has been produced in this country since the eighteenth century. Bourbon can be made in any U.S. state but the vast majority of it hails from Kentucky and can claim to be world-renowned Kentucky Bourbon. The site of the Green River Distillery has housed distilleries for nearly 130 years. The original Green River Distillery, built-in 1885, was the first in Owensboro and a major producer of Kentucky Bourbon for over 30 years. In 1918 the entire distillery burned to the ground. It was rebuilt in 1936 after prohibition, and most of the buildings on our grounds today date back to the late 1930s. In 1940 it was purchased by the Medley family and continued to produce significant quantities of Bourbon as the Charles Medley Distillers Kentucky until 1993. Here is a random sampling of just some of the bourbon brands that have been made on the site of our distillery. Some of these brands have moved on to different distilleries over time and some are no longer in production: Green River Ezra Brooks Mellow Corn Medley Brothers Kentucky Beau Old Medley Five Brothers
WHEN THE CLOUDS ROLL IN, SO DOES THE FLAVOR. Made by hand in Southeast Alaska. With a touch of Kentucky. Crafted with the same attention to detail that a boat-maker brings to his trade, Boatwright Bourbon is a blend of two Straight Bourbon Whiskeys: Our own recipe made completely from grain-to-barrel in our small craft distillery in Southeast Alaska, and a finely-made Straight Bourbon Whiskey from our friends in Kentucky. The character is so unique, and so local, it’s like a postcard from Alaska. We worked hard to make this Boatwright Bourbon excellent. We hope you enjoy it.

Split Rock Distillery for a dirt road we travel often—the shortcut between our two homes. It’s the only shortcut we’ve ever taken to bring you Maine’s first organic spirits. When we founded Split Rock, we promised ourselves we would handcraft our spirits the right way. That meant the long way: authentic, small-batch grain to glass, selling no spirit not our own. We spent evenings and weekends building a distillery and tasting room by hand in an old barn on historic Route One. We sourced organic grains and fruits from the fields of farmers we count as friends. We demanded organic sugars and drew waters so pure locals still harvest winter ice. We refined our fermentations again and again to showcase the unique signatures of our still. And through it all, we gathered knowledge, inspiration, a helping hand, and an honest opinion from other distillers, family, and friends, and every stranger fairly met.

Bourbon was born right here in the heart of Kentucky. Steeped in charred oak barrels in the ideal climate of Kentucky’s hot summers and snowy winters; the tradition carries on today, almost entirely unchanged. In 2012, Steve Thompson, Chris Miller and Mike Loring came together with an idea to create a place for people to come and ‘bottle their dreams’ in the old Crestwood, Kentucky Ice Cream Distributors, Inc. building. Steve’s many years of experience in the spirits industry played a big role in the inspiration and power behind the Kentucky Artisan Distillery concept. It would be the first contract distillery in Kentucky, and the only production sized farm-to-bottle distillery capable of distilling as little as one barrel for a special occasion on up to over 1,800 barrels a year for partners like Jefferson’s Reserve. They would do this using only pot stills, and running the distillery by hand. As bourbon has gained popularity in recent years, things have changed a little bit. The Jefferson’s brand has grown, and has adopted Kentucky Artisan Distillery as its official home. We take great pride in being the home to this innovative brand, which still stays true to the rich heritage and tradition […]
Inspired by our city’s rich distilling history, Chattanooga Whiskey was founded in 2011 with a mission to bring back “Whiskey to the People.” Following the success of our community-powered Vote Whiskey campaign, we eventually became the first distillery in Chattanooga in over a century. In 2015, we began the patient process of crafting our malt-forward style of straight bourbon whiskey we call Tennessee High Malt. After 8 years in the making, our Tennessee High Malt was released in August 2019, marking a new era in our company history with a whiskey that celebrates the future as much as the history that got us here today. Opened in March 2015 and located in the heart of downtown Chattanooga, our Experimental Distillery is the first distillery to craft whiskey in Chattanooga in over 100 years. With over 100 different barrels maturing in the aging cellar, every visit to the Experimental Distillery is an exploration of the past, present and future of hand-crafted bourbon. Stop by for a tour and tasting and to check out our latest releases.
