ORIGINAL AND AUTHENTIC In 2008, Balcones was nothing more than an idea driven by a passion to create something original and authentic, right here in the Heart of Texas. It all started in an old welding shop under a bridge in Waco. For the next year, we replaced the roofing, knocked out walls, laid brick, cut pipes, installed copper pot stills from Portugal, and shoehorned a whisky distillery inside that quaint building. Proud of what we had accomplished on our own, we began distilling in 2009.
From start to finish, every step of production occurs under our control in our facility in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Our more traditional methods of mashing, fermenting, distilling and aging require more effort and are more costly than other more modern methods. Nevertheless, we understand that exceptional results often require patience. Our patience and hard work provide you with the finest quality of artisan spirits.
Luxco’s drive to grow has quickly allowed us to become one of the top USA independent producers of alcohol beverage products as we produce and market a wide array of products across all categories. In 2015, as our whiskey brands continued to grow and expand, we realized we were going to have to build our own site to service our needs going forward. As such, we began the hunt for our very own distillery site. Kentucky, with its rich southern culture, abundant natural resources of both high-quality grains and fine limestone-filtered water, was the natural fit. Building our own distillery represents a natural evolution for Luxco. We have been steeped in the bourbon business for over forty years, having others distill for us to service our needs. We learned from them and now understand that it is our time to do it ourselves in order to fill the growing demand for our products.
The Old Nick Williams Company, Inc., first established in 1768, was once known as one of the most revered brands of whiskey distillers in the United States. The Eighteenth Amendment in 1919 and subsequent prohibition forced the distillery to temporarily close. As heirs to this amazing legacy, we have brought back the legend of our ancestors and dedicated ourselves to living up to the quality and craftsmanship that once made our family’s whiskey famous around the world. CAROLINA BOURBON WHISKEY We’ve taken the wonderful flavors and aromas of the Carolina Whiskey up a notch by barrel aging it for approximately 18 months. Our Carolina Bourbon is a complex wheated Bourbon with notes of caramel, butterscotch, and toasted oak. Bottled at 92 proof, this bourbon finishes off smooth and warm to please a variety of palates. Our bourbon won double gold at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition.
Based in Rapid City, SD, owner Jerry Sailer, of Rapid City, has turned a seven-generation, Sailer family recipe into reality by producing flavored liqueur in South Dakota. Jerry Sailer was educated in the art of “making alcohol” by his father when he was 15 years old. Jerry’s father also learned the art of “making alcohol” when he was 15. In fact, the five previous father and son relationships of the family shared the same bond. Making alcohol has been in our blood for a long time. The flavors you’re tasting today didn’t happen overnight. Contraband flavored liqueurs have been perfected from generation to generation. In fact, Jerry recalls the beverage his father passed onto him as tasting like “turpentine with a little lighter fluid thrown in for flavoring,” but, “it got the job done.” From that point on, Jerry’s dream was to own and open his own distillery. SMOOTH BOURBON Bourbon taste. No bourbon bite. It’s just dangerous. Contraband Smooth Bourbon is a bourbon-flavored liqueur that invokes all of your favorite bourbon tastes. Smoky Oak. Vanilla. Caramel. Spices. All of it in a flavored liqueur that always goes down smooth after hitting the tongue with a strong flavor. We promise […]
Angel’s Envy is a hand-crafted, small-batch whiskey produced by Louisville Distilling Company, a subsidiary of Bacardi Limited. WHEN LINCOLN CAME OUT OF RETIREMENT TO CREATE ANGEL’S ENVY it was to collaborate with his son, Wes, on a bourbon finished in Port barrels. He’d had the idea for years, but had never had the chance to explore it previously. It was just as important to Lincoln to be creating a new type of whiskey as it was to be building something with his family. Wes’s son Kyle eventually joined his family to help with the fledgling brand, and to learn side by side with his grandfather. ROOTED in 200 YEARS of bourbon heritage, we create hand-finished spirits that aren’t afraid to improve on the classic tradition. Inspired by legendary Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson’s lifetime spent crafting fine spirits, Angel’s Envy is our masterpiece. The 5% of spirit lost each year during barrel aging is called the “Angel’s Share.” After tasting our finished whiskey, Lincoln joked that we’d finally gotten a better deal than the angels. And so Angel’s Envy was born.
WELCOME TO NEW YORK’S URBAN FARM DISTILLERY Since 1922 my family has provided some of the finest men’s suit buttons available. For four generations these buttons have closed suits worn by Presidents, Popes, Kings, and Businessmen the world over. From a young age I went to work in my grandfather’s factory, but it was clear I was meant for a different path. I broke tradition and decided to make whiskey. The lessons I learned in his factory as a kid still guide me to this day; work hard, work with your hands, make your product the best on the market, and you can’t cheat time. My distillery pays homage to my grandfather and the world he knew – where real men worked hard and drank real pot-distilled whiskey. People always ask me if it was a hard decision to start my own company. And for me it wasn’t one decision, it was a series of them. It was a driving desire to strike out on my own; to make my mark on the world. My interest in distilled spirits grew over the years and when the chance to learn the trade came along, I jumped at it. When it came time […]
Preservation’s farmhouse distillery and historic barns are set in the rolling hills of Kentucky Bluegrass Country, right along the Bourbon Trail. The surrounding green pastureland encompasses what is now Preservation Farms and represents our commitment to the art of slow distilling, and the goal of sustainability. When you visit our property, you will understand why we chose this specific land to create the big, rich flavors we’ve dreamed of distilling for years. Our farm and distillery sit on 40 beautiful acres and we can’t wait to share it and our unique micro-batch bourbon and whiskey with you.
We’re not here just to churn whiskey out, But to make something special to this area that draws on what is particular about our region. Our location is special because we are at the intersection of the Sierra Foothills and the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. The weather and agriculture around us are unique to here and we emphasize that when you visit us in our Tasting Room. Our operations, Amador Distillery & Dry Diggings Distillery, were started independently of one another in 2012 and brought together in 2015 with a focus on our locally grown fruit and grain. Merging the two facilities into one, gave us to the opportunity to focus these efforts. We are active in production weekly and have barrels aging past 10 years. Our small production capacity allows us to focus on high-quality and local products. We create spirits from beginning to end by working with local farmers, vintners, and brewers. We currently produce over 25 labels, but only distribute the more traditional types of products. We ferment, distill, blend and bottle all products by hand on-site in El Dorado Hills. However, we do also blend some of our whiskies, and our labels clearly state if […]
Bourbon was born right here in the heart of Kentucky. Steeped in charred oak barrels in the ideal climate of Kentucky’s hot summers and snowy winters; the tradition carries on today, almost entirely unchanged. In 2012, Steve Thompson, Chris Miller and Mike Loring came together with an idea to create a place for people to come and ‘bottle their dreams’ in the old Crestwood, Kentucky Ice Cream Distributors, Inc. building. Steve’s many years of experience in the spirits industry played a big role in the inspiration and power behind the Kentucky Artisan Distillery concept. It would be the first contract distillery in Kentucky, and the only production sized farm-to-bottle distillery capable of distilling as little as one barrel for a special occasion on up to over 1,800 barrels a year for partners like Jefferson’s Reserve. They would do this using only pot stills, and running the distillery by hand. As bourbon has gained popularity in recent years, things have changed a little bit. The Jefferson’s brand has grown, and has adopted Kentucky Artisan Distillery as its official home. We take great pride in being the home to this innovative brand, which still stays true to the rich heritage and tradition […]

Wilderness Trail Distillery has a pioneering spirit here at Wilderness Trail Distillery, just like the settlers who followed the path Daniel Boone blazed into Central Kentucky. In keeping with our location in the birthplace of Kentucky, we like blending old traditions with the science of making Bourbon and other fine spirits. After years of working with distilleries around the world to provide advice and fermentation products, we launched our premium craft distillery in 2012 with a focus on making the highest quality Bourbon, Rye Whiskey, Vodka, and Bourbon Barrel-Aged Rum. Our founders Shane Baker and Pat Heist are fermentation experts with more than 20 years of experience in the production of alcohol and some of the best brands on the market today. Our specialty is making unique spirits from locally-grown grains to ensure quality and adding a healthy dose of science in the process. Come see what we mean by visiting Wilderness Trail Distillery.
The thirteenth Colony aims to make unique southern spirits that are affordable and delicious for our customers. We do this by sourcing local and regional materials whenever possible: everything from using corn from our own private farm, bottles made right here in southwest Georgia, or water from the oldest aquifer in the southeast. We strive to bring these amazing resources together to create a unique taste of the south in every bottle. Southern Bourbon 70% corn, 21% rye, & 9% malted barley Aged in new charred oak barrels Natural water sourced from Georgia’s oldest aquifer Aged 4+ Years | 95 Proof
Wyoming Whiskey makes bourbon in small batches at our distillery in Kirby, Wyoming. From day one, every drop of Wyoming Whiskey was made in Kirby and aged in one of our six rick houses. That’s not true of every whiskey you run into. We don’t pass judgment, but it means a lot to us and we hope it means something to you. Double Cask Bourbon Whiskey Whiskey gets its color and character from the cask in which it ages and matures. This Double Cask whiskey goes through the process twice. The first five years of maturation in a new charred oak barrel make it a bourbon. That bourbon then experiences secondary maturation in decades-old casks seasoned by Pedro Ximenez sherry that adds a touch of sweetness and yields a smooth and impressively complex spirit. TASTING NOTES COLOR: copper to mahogany NOSE: autumnal notes of dried apricot, mission fig, and dried date PALATE: stewed prune and black raisin, with hints of candied orange peel; vanilla buttercream and toffee underneath MOUTHFEEL: rich, sticky cinnamon roll with raisins and spice FINISH: dark dried fruit, followed by warming brown baking spices
In the rural hills of Wyoming County, where the pavement turns to dirt and the cornfields line the road, we set up shop in a small barn to distill craft spirits. This humble endeavor began by chance with the arrival of a homemade pot-still via family friend and southern moonshiner “Cowboy Bob”. It was here that Bob taught us the basics of distilling. In 2012, we filed for our DSP and NYS Class D Farm permits. This newly created license required at least 75% New York State grown produce to be used for the production of Spirits (we use 100%). This law allows for the direct sale to consumers, liquor stores, bars and restaurants without having to sell through a distributor. Thus making it possible to compete with large producers and promote local agriculture. By 2016 we decided to bring the Buffalo Distilling Company back to where its’ original namesake was founded in 1883 “The City Of Good Neighbors”, Buffalo. As luck would have it we were able to work with a group of developers revitalizing the historical Larkin district within the city. The Larkin Development group leased and eventually sold us the old Duchmann and Son’s carriage factory built […]

Great efforts to restore the main distillery building, cistern room, aging warehouses, and many other aspects of the grounds have left the property totally transformed, with more exciting developments in the works. From underground, spring-fed lakes, to the Kentucky split-face limestone exterior, to our old turn-of-the-century belt and pulley fan systems running throughout the distillery and visitor center, it truly makes for a memorable trip.

Boundary Oak Distillery is nestled in the knobs of central Kentucky. With its beautiful woods, waterfall, and natural limestone spring the land was clearly meant to be home to one of Kentucky’s great bourbon distilleries. However, because of prohibition bourbon enthusiasts have been robbed of this asset for nearly a century. In fact, the land has most recently been known as a manufacturing plant that closed in 2009. Fortunate for us, Master Distiller Brent Goodin had a vision for something more. You see, the Goodin Family has been a part of Kentucky for over 200 years. Brent’s ancestor Samuel Goodin established Goodin Fort at the site of old Boston, which ultimately became Bardstown, the Bourbon Capital of the World ™. Add to this Brent’s grandmother and uncle’s years of hard work in the bourbon industry and it’s no wonder how Brent could see a distillery on this land. After months of research, paperwork, preparation, and an investment of nearly 1 million dollars, Boundary Oak Distillery received its licensure. On October 18, 2013, the first legal production of liquor in Hardin County, Kentucky since prohibition began. Our Kentucky Moonshine 101 proof, Kentucky Moonshine 121 proof, and Kentucky Amber are now available at […]
