At Litchfield Distillery, we are committed to batching the finest spirits around using the best ingredients our local farmers have to offer. We’re pleased to announce our latest “spirit of hard work” – New Batchers’ Blueberry Flavored Vodka.
One of our favorite rites of summer is picking fresh Connecticut Blueberries. We’re very fortunate to live in a part of the country where these sweet tasting, indigo-colored berries grow abundantly. It didn’t take us long to decide that we had to batch something with them!
We partnered with Lester Whitney’s Orchard in Washington, CT to source the fruit. Their “no spray” blueberry plants were planted in the early 1970′s and are described as disease resistance because they are developed from wild blueberries native to our region.
Just a couple of weeks ago, we headed over to the orchard and picked several pounds of blueberries ourselves. They looked absolutely tempting and we couldn’t resist popping a few into our mouths as we picked away.
The following day we put the fruit right to work and began to infuse our Batchers’ Vodka. With time, they performed their job perfectly; imbuing our smooth-tasting vodka with fragrant and slightly tart fruit notes. We think you’ll love its aroma and its delicate taste. It’s a uniquely refreshing way to enhance your next craft cocktail.
