The distillery was founded by longtime friends Jeff Wiseman and Peter Wright in 2008 and is located in the historic James E. Pepper Distillery, which began distilling on the present day site of Woodford Reserve Distillery on Glenn Creek in Woodford County, Kentucky. They later moved to the current location in the mid 19th century before merging with the Buffalo Trace Distillery in 1958. Barrel House Distilling Company is a craft distillery located on the site of the old James E. Pepper Distillery in historic Lexington, Kentucky.  Currently four products are produced here:  Pure Blue Vodka; Devil John Moonshine; OAK Rum; and a still to be named bourbon whiskey that is quietly aging.  Come on down and visit us to see craft distilling, Kentucky Style!
